Spark™
Clear Aligners.
What Spark™ is
Spark™ Clear Aligners are a modern clear aligner system from Ormco. Each aligner is a custom tray designed to move your teeth a small amount — you wear one in each step of your plan until the final position is reached. Compared with traditional braces, aligners are nearly invisible and fully removable for eating, brushing, and flossing.
Typical treatment
Most adult Spark cases run 6–18 months, depending on case complexity. Your complete treatment plan — including the number of aligners, the projected final position, and any refinements — is designed digitally up front, so you see where the treatment is going before you begin.
How the process works
- Complimentary consultation and clinical exam with Dr. Thompson.
- Digital scan and treatment plan — you'll see the projected final result.
- Aligners are manufactured and fitted. You wear each set for the prescribed period.
- Check-ins every 8–10 weeks so Dr. Thompson can confirm your progress.
- Retainers after treatment to hold your new position.
Who it's for
Spark is ideal for adults and mature teens with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns — mild crowding, spacing, and most common bite issues. More complex cases may be better served by the Pitts21 bracket system. Your consultation answers which is the right fit for your case.
Spark vs. Pitts21
Spark is the right choice when removability and discretion are priorities and the clinical case is well-suited to aligner mechanics. Pitts21 is better for complex bite corrections and cases where continuous tooth control is important. Many adults are candidates for both; the decision comes down to priorities and the specifics of your bite. Consult with Dr. Thompson for the right answer.
